How I arrived at RWM
“After six years on active duty as a Captain in the United States Army, I joined a family tax practice and began doing income tax work in Tuxedo, New York. During the 2007-2009 recession, I had a lot of clients ask me what they should do with their investments. In seeking answers, I found two voices of reason in the chaos of that time in Barry and Josh – both of which helped me and my clients understand and survive the crisis. I added a Certified Financial Planner™ / CFPⓇ designation in 2012. When Ritholtz Wealth Management put out a notice for financial planners I responded to the inquiry less than ten minutes after the notice posted. It’s been an incredible ride so far working with our team and the most rewarding experience of my professional career.”
Favorite part of the job
“I just honestly like helping people, especially if it involves finding a way to reduce a client’s tax burden. I feel that most advisers don’t pay enough attention to the impact their investment recommendations have on an after-tax basis, so when I’m able to keep more of our client’s investment earnings in their portfolios, I feel good about what we are doing.”
When I’m Not Working
“In 2017, I became a father for the first time to a happy, baby boy, Sam. I am really enjoying this new role and love spending time with my family. Another passion of mine is restoration work. Most recently, I restored an 1840 boarding house.”
